Education Cooperation

Educational cooperation between the Russian Federation and Sri Lanka continues to grow through mutually beneficial academic engagement, university linkages, and people-to-people contacts. Russian universities and institutions offer opportunities for Sri Lankan students to pursue higher education at undergraduate, postgraduate, and research levels, including through scholarship schemes supported by the Russian Government, as well as university admission pathways that may include financial support depending on the program and eligibility. These scholarship opportunities enable Sri Lankan students to build strong academic foundations, benefit from training in disciplines of medicine, engineering, Arts, and gain valuable international experience while studying in an academic environment enriched by Russian expertise. In addition to student mobility, educational cooperation helps strengthen academic ties through joint research interests, faculty and institutional collaboration, participation in academic events, and the development of long-term partnerships between universities in both countries.
